I see engagement as more than the dissemination of research. It is a process of listening, learning, building relationships, and creating knowledge together.
My engagement work connects communities, researchers, practitioners, and wider publics through participatory research, knowledge co-production, storytelling, and science communication. Across these spaces, I am interested in how different ways of knowing can meet and how research can become more accessible, reciprocal, and meaningful beyond academia.

As a Fellow in the inaugural Belmont Forum Advancing Leadership Program, I am part of a global community exploring new approaches to transdisciplinary leadership for complex environmental and sustainability challenges.
The program brings researchers and societal actors together as partners, emphasizing co-learning, equitable collaboration, science communication, and the co-creation of knowledge and solutions across disciplinary and institutional boundaries.

Adivasi Knowledge Collective
Creating spaces for Indigenous knowledge, memory & intergenerational learning
The Adivasi Knowledge Collective creates a space for documenting, sharing, and sustaining knowledge rooted in food, land, ecology, culture, and everyday practice.
Through conversations with elders, community members, youth, and researchers, the Collective seeks to support intergenerational knowledge exchange and community-led storytelling , while creating opportunities for Indigenous knowledge to inform conversations about food systems, environmental change, adaptation, and sustainable futures.

Understanding systems together.
Another way I engage with communities is through participatory approaches as a tool for collective learning, dialogue, and exploration. Rather than developing representations of a system solely from researcher-defined assumptions, I work with community members and other stakeholders to identify the relationships, feedback, knowledge, and experiences that shape how they understand and navigate change.

STORYTELLING & SCIENCE COMMUNICATION
Making research visible, accessible & conversational
Research does not have to end with a journal article. Through visual storytelling and science communication, I translate research on food, ecology, Indigenous knowledge, climate, and social-ecological change into accessible stories that invite wider audiences into conversation.
These stories combine research findings, photographs, illustrations, community knowledge, questions, and everyday experiences to communicate not only what we know, but also how knowledge is created, remembered, contested, and shared.
